Central Cove Application Process 2024-2025
Proceso de solicitud de Central Cove 2024-2025

Who can apply?

Students must be three years old by Sept. 1, 2024, and cannot yet have reached their 5th birthday by that date to be eligible. Our program seeks enrollment of students from varying backgrounds and abilities. All students who are residents of Uintah County with birthdates between Sept. 1, 2019, and Aug. 31, 2021 are welcome to apply.

(Students who turn three after the Aug. 31, 2024, cut off are not eligible for initial application but interested parents are encouraged to contact the school as their child’s third birthday approaches to check on current availability.)

How do I apply?

The waitlist application survey will be available online beginning March 4, 2024 at 8 a.m. and will close for review on April 8, 2024, at 4 p.m. The survey can be found on the Central Cove Preschool web site under Application and Waitlist.

Application review and selection process will begin April 9, 2024. After that date a weighted lottery selection process will be used to determine initial placement. Only complete applications will be considered. Initial responses regarding waitlist and application status should be received via email on April 24, 2024. Central Cove will continue to accept applications after that date until the program is full.

If the program is full, applicants will be placed on a waiting list.

(Students who attended the previous school year have the option to return without additional consideration.)
How are students selected for the program?

Students will be accepted to attend preschool until the program is full. To maintain a balanced and developmentally appropriate program, Central Cove will use a weighted lottery system to identify the students that are offered enrollment.  Factors for consideration in weighting include the following:

  1. Application must be complete to be considered.
  2. Date of completed waitlist application.
  3. Siblings of students already in the program.
  4. Completion of developmental screening.
  5. Completion of Waterford Upstart Application (regardless of acceptance or participation)
  6. Additional information may be requested for some students to determine availability of appropriate placement.

When will I know if my child has a spot?

Families will be notified of their child’s potential status by April 24, 2024, via email and will be notified of next steps.

  • Everyone who has been offered a spot for next year will need to preregister for classes. This includes ALL returning students.

  • All returning students must complete the preregistration roundup to reserve their spot. Roundup will be held online between April 29-May 3.

  • For those who are being offered a spot, pre-registration will begin April 29-May 3 online, with additional documents being brought to the school during that week.

  • For those not yet being offered a spot, details will be provided about remaining on the waitlist. Openings do regularly come up during the school year.

  • For some families, additional information may be needed as part of placement consideration.

  • Documents must be returned within one week of offer to hold your child’s spot.

Responsibilities of parents:

  • Complete an ASQ developmental screening and waitlist application prior to acceptance.
  • Return completed registration and related documents within one week of acceptance to hold a child's offered spot.
  • Have 93% attendance or better during the school year.
  • Read with your child 10-15 minutes daily.
  • Engage in regular communication with your child’s teacher.
  • Pay tuition by due date/late fee date.  Tuition is always due the 20th for the coming month, with a late fee charged between the 20th and 25th and student being dropped from program if not paid by the 25th.
  • Return documents within one week if offered a spot.

Important information:

  • Students will be selected through a weighted lottery system.  Filling out the application does not guarantee enrollment in the program.
  • Parents and guardians are responsible for transportation to and from school.
  • Parents and guardians will need to sign the commitment document as part of the application process for their child to be considered.
  • Final registration, payment of the $25 registration fee and the first month's tuition must be completed by Aug. 9 so that class lists can be posted on Aug. 15.
  • There will be no late fee in August. However, students whose first month's tuition has not been paid in full by Aug. 20 will be moved to the waitlist and will be unable to attend school in September.
  • For the remaining eight tuition payments from September through April, tuition for the upcoming month is due by the 20th of each month, with a late fee for payment made between the 20th and 25th of each month. If payment is not received by the 25th of the month, the student will be dropped from the program and will be moved to the waitlist.
