The Uintah School District has determined that the original SchoolMessenger phone call and email that was sent at 6:47 a.m. on Tuesday did not reach the intended recipients due to user error on our part.
The district apologizes for the error.
To avoid similar issues in the future, we have scheduled additional training for SchoolMessenger users. The training will take place next week.
As part of the training, we will implement a procedure to have SchoolMessenger users run a report immediately after they send out a message to ensure the message went to all intended recipients. If the report shows the message was not sent as intended, the issue will be identified, fixed and the message will be sent again.
Yesterday, our staff helped several people update their contact information in Aspire. Aspire is the Student Information System used by SchoolMessenger to populate its email and call lists. We also identified at least 100 instances of people who had either blocked the district’s emails or whose email addresses contained typographical errors, which made our messages undeliverable.
Please take a moment to check your contact information in your student’s Aspire account to ensure it is accurate and up to date. You can update the information yourself, or you can call your child’s school to get help from the secretary if needed.
Again, the district apologizes for yesterday's error. We are committed to improving our communication processes going forward.
