The Uintah School Board held its regularly scheduled work session and business meeting on Wednesday, as well as its semiannual Impact Aid meeting. Video of the meetings can be found on the the district’s YouTube channel https://youtube.com/live/zPW-DSiri2k?feature=share.  

 

As part of its business meeting, the board celebrated the district’s students of the month for November 2023. The students are Kingston Evans (Central Cove Preschool); Jett Politte (Ashley Elementary); Amelia Harrison (Davis Elementary); Oliver Anderson (Discovery Elementary); Traxton Harmon (Eagle View Elementary); Avonlea Simmons (Lapoint Elementary); Brielle Bell (Maeser Elementary); Hannah Gardiner (Naples Elementary); Jackson Tappana (Uintah Middle School); Adiama Gata (Vernal Middle School); Mason Antillon (Uintah High School); and Zhennia Owens (Ashley Valley Education Center/Uintah Online). 

 

Congratulations to these outstanding students and to everyone who supports them! 

 

Uintah High Theatre Tickets 

You only have two more chances to experience Uintah High Theatre’s production of The Lightning Thief: The Percy Jackson Musical. Tickets for tonight and tomorrow night’s performances are still available at https://uintah.ludus.comThe show starts at 7 p.m. each night. 

 

No School on Nov. 17 

First trimester ends on Thursday, Nov. 16. There is no school on Friday, Nov. 17. It is a Professional Development Day for teachers and staff. Second trimester begins Monday, Nov. 20. 

 

Celebrations 

Congratulations to Uintah High School senior Kaylee Russell! Earlier this week the Utah High School Activities Association announced that her sportsmanship video had been selected as the winner from all the 4A submissions, which earned Russell a scholarship. Upcoming Events 

The Uintah High School Swim Team is in Cedar City for two days of competition at the Cedar Invitational. Tonight’s races begin at 5 p.m. Tomorrow’s races start at 10 a.m. The Utes host Juan Diego and Union high schools next Friday at the Uintah Rec Center for their first home meet of the season. 

 

The Uintah High Choir will perform its Solos ‘n Stuff Concert on Wednesday at 7 p.m. in the high school auditorium. Admission is free. The concert will be streamed live on the Uintah High Choir Facebook page. 

 

The annual Red and White scrimmage for Uintah High’s basketball programs is set for Wednesday as well. It will begin at 7 p.m. in the Main Gym and will include the girls and boys' freshman, sophomore, JV, and varsity teams. The girls and boys' teams both open their seasons next Friday at home against Richfield High.
